EMDR Therapy: Reparenting Little You
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful therapeutic approach designed to help individuals process and heal from past traumatic experiences. It’s particularly effective for addressing unresolved emotional wounds, whether from childhood, relationships, or life events that still affect you today.
EMDR involves using bilateral stimulation, typically through eye movements, to help the brain reprocess memories and shift the emotional charge they carry.
In my practice, I integrate EMDR with the concept of reparenting, a healing approach that focuses on nurturing and caring for little you. When we experience trauma or neglect, especially in childhood, it creates emotional patterns and coping mechanisms that influence how we show up in the world today. These patterns often keep us stuck in behaviors, beliefs, and emotional reactions that no longer serve us.
By combining EMDR with reparenting, we work to heal these old wounds by reintroducing the love, compassion, and care you may not have received in the past. Through EMDR, we can reprocess the trauma that shaped little you, helping you break free from negative patterns and develop healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving. This allows you to show up differently in relationships—with your children, your loved ones, and yourself—by offering the nurturing care that may have been missing during your formative years.
Reparenting through EMDR is not about blaming others for the past; it’s about reclaiming the power to heal yourself.
Together, we will help you provide the safety, understanding, and compassion to little you that you deserve—transforming old emotional scars into sources of strength and resilience.
